AIFD Northwest Chapter:

So just who are we exactly and what do we do?? Well, here is a short description of some of what we do. First, we are the American Institute of Floral Designers or AIFD for short. As an organization, the focus of AIFD is all on education. Ultimately, the education of those seeking career advancement as professional floral designers within the professional floral industry and creating greater awareness of the floral industry for consumers and anyone that loves flowers. Secondly, as part of all of that, we are continually working to push the boundaries of innovation and advancement for our chosen profession and the floral industry as a whole.

In the restaurant industry, and for Professional Chefs, you may have heard of the Michelin Star. It is very much about the acknowledgment of excellence for Professional Chefs, their restaurants and what they create. For Professional Florists and our floral industry; AIFD and earning that recognition for Florists is very similar in many ways.
